1-54 London: A Meeting of Two Worlds
The 1-54 international art fair in London let me put my work to an international test, in an unexpected dialogue with the Coty house.
Taking part in the 1-54 fair in London was a dream come true. This fair dedicated to contemporary African art is one of the most important platforms for artists from the continent and its diaspora. But what made this participation unique was the collaboration with Coty UK.
The idea of merging visual art and perfumery might seem bold. Yet the two disciplines share a common obsession: capturing the ephemeral. A fragrance, like a painting, seeks to hold onto something elusive — an emotion, a memory, an atmosphere.
The result was an immersive installation where each canvas was paired with a fragrance created specifically for it. A complete sensory experience, warmly received by collectors and the international press.
